"Moviprep came about from seeing a child empty a sherbet-filled straw into their mouth. I recalled how as a child the sherbet felt sandy in my mouth, making me cough, and making my tongue fizz. I was also struck by how this food item was a plaything, a toy. Moviprep carries the smell of the sherbet into the space, alluding to the material qualities and perhaps sparking nostalgia. What appears to be a haphazard mess beneath the sculpture is actually a series of traces, remaining from my attempt to quickly connect the straws. The sherbet creates trails where the straw sweeps across the ground, tracing the nuances of my hands constructing the work."
